T & M Auto Sales was founded in 2013. It actually started out as a hobby. Chris and Vickey loved going to live, and online, car auctions. Chris is really great at fixing up cars that just need a little love and a bit of work in order to be road worthy…it’s kind of like of his passion.
The couple also has a passion for helping people. So, this hobby resulted in a small business venture. Chris and Vickey, (Chris did all the repairs while Vickey, with her extraordinary head for business, took care of the office side) set about buying repairable vehicles, overhauling them, and then selling them.
They both knew that for some people, many down on their luck and needing a hand, going through traditional channels, the major dealerships, to purchase a vehicle was out of reach and not realistically possible because they had a bad credit history, or no credit history at all. Dealership wouldn’t take the chance. And yet, these same people needed reliable transportation to get to work, take their kids to school or the doctor, and get groceries. It’s a problem.
Chris and Vickey realized that in order to help people who are financially challenged get a vehicle, they had to operate as a Buy Here Pay Here Option. But this is on a totally different scale than the local dealerships and car lot operations.
Here is the T and M difference:
T and M Auto is a very small two person operation. It’s just Chris and Vickey. They do not have a line of credit with any financial institution for the Buy Here Pay Here Option. It comes out of their own pockets. They personally finance the loans. They work on the premise that people have good hearts, have integrity, and who want to, and will, do the right thing. They have had good success with almost all of their customers. Most of them are grateful for the opportunity to get ahead and for someone who believes in them when no one else does.
That’s not to say they haven’t been burned and left with unpaid loans. But that does not deter the couple from continuing on and helping as many people as possible. For them, that is the meaning of life.
